SYMPHONIC SOUND

Therapeutic Sound For Wellbeing

More Than Just Relaxation

I'm Rachel, a Gong Practitioner, trained at the College of Sound Healing, specialising in therapeutic sound.

What is Therapeutic Sound?

Therapeutic sound creates wellbeing by using gongs, singing bowls and a range of grounding instruments which help you slow down. This gives body and mind space to process emotions, release stress, support rest, restoration and overall wellbeing.

The tones, vibrations and frequencies of the gongs can help slow the brainwaves, guiding you away from the busy, thinking mind and into a relaxed, meditative state.

During a gong bath with Symphonic Sound, experiences can arise on the physical, mental or emotional plane - whether that is deep relaxation, insight, emotional release, physical sensations or rest.

After a gong bath, clients often describe feeling:

  • emotionally lighter

  • more grounded and present

  • deeply rested

  • with greater clarity

  • and a fresh perspective

No previous experience is needed and you don't need to know how to meditate. The sounds of the gongs will guide you into your own, unique sound journey.

You're simply invited to rest, soften and receive.

3 Simple Steps

Book Your Spot at a Community Gong

1. Select your community event from the Book Tickets menu.

2. Receive your booking confirmation and Health Policies.

3.  Lie down, wrapped up in your cosy nest. Let the sound do the rest.

'Think of the body as being an orchestra of many different instruments, some of which may need re-tuning.'

Why Symphonic Sound?

Why Symphonic Sound?

In March 2020, just before Lockdown, I had my first Gong Bath. It was a profound, healing experience.

In September 2020, I drove to Devon to begin my training with Sheila, bought a gong and some bowls and started my journey into sound.

In October, 2021, I resigned from my teaching post of 20 years to focus on my gong training with Steph and to begin my work as a gong practitioner.

I believe that these beautiful, ancient instruments create a very powerful, therapeutic space.

As well as taking the gongs into local communities, I also work with Local Authorities in Flintshire, Denbighshire and Wrexham to offer sound to schools, wellbeing hubs, mental health support services and care facilities.

I've taken the gongs to charity spaces, such as Friends of the Countess of Chester Country Park, Land Trust; have supported organisations such as Urdd Gobaith Cymru with their staff wellbeing days and joined North Wales Interfaith on the Main Stage at the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen.

I occasionally collaborate with aligned, trained practitioners who want to include sound in their retreat programmes and wellbeing events.

I also offer sound for corporate wellbeing packages.

If you're interested in any of my services, let's chat.

Training

Sound is so powerful which is why it's really important that you work with a properly trained, insured practitioner.

My training with Sheila Whittaker and Steph Healy through the College of Sound Healing was incredible. Both Sheila and Steph are highly skilled, well-respected sound therapists and tutors for the College.

I am a College of Sound Healing Gong Practitioner.
